Prototype
The main gameplay loop is mostly done. There have been few things omitted (mainly consumables and dungeon progression), but I hope they will be added later in development.
Changes in design:
No boss fight, because there is only one level, there is no time limit inside the dungeon, and there are no consumables. But these shall be added later down the line. Design has been simplified, but these simplifications are temporary.
Requirements:
- [R1] - Only PC so far
- [R2] - sounds - background music and entity sounds - mostly hit sounds and walking sounds, placeholders
- [R3] - stability
- [R4] - Adaptable UI - The UI adapts to changes in screen sizes, works fine for 16:9 aspect ratios, but more aspect ratios need to be tested
- [R5] - DOTweens - animations and UI (values changes) - not implemented yet
- [R6] - Editor extension - Item creation and Item inspector
- [R7] - New Input System - for player movement, needs to be done for menus and inventories
- [R8] - URP - basic 2d lighting with shadows
- [C1] - 2D game
- [A1] - Save/Load (Save after dungeon) - inventory and stashed are saved between dungeon runs, but not when the game is turned off
- [A3] - Particle system - on hit particles so far
- [A11] - PS4 controller - not tested
- [A12] - Game Settings UI (mainly audio groups, video, maybe controls) - not touched
Time spent on prototype:
Art assets - 8 hours (most of the time taken by player sprites)
Gameplay - 15 hours (I had some issues that I got stuck on)
UI - 10 hours (while the menu is basic, this also includes inventory and its functionality)
Time estimation on future work - 30 hours
